The problem is they can't question what they believe in, because the ultimate result is that they will realize that their faith is in error. And after they've invested so much of their life into that faith, the realization that they are wrong would be devastating to their mind. Many believers would probably kill themselves... If suicide weren't ever so conveniently a sin. So naturally, they're going to justify the failure of  faith in any way possible. Things like, "they didn't believe enough", "it was their time", "it was god's will", are nothing more than excuses to justify the irrationality of faith. And BTW, welcome to the forums. That's were you are wrong Red, the time I've invested has shown me that the only regrets I have is that I invested so much time without believing prayer being a factor in my life.

 

I could not kill myself because I trust in God and the fact that HE answers prayers nor could I dress in an manner of confusion, because of HIS guidance of my mind. I know who and what I am.

 

It is not common sense that governs me, it is faith in a supernatural sense that gives me hope for my trials and tommorrows.

So are you saying that tommorrow is guaranteed? If so, that would make you a hypocrite, because it clearly says in James 4:13-17 that you don't know what will happen to tomorrow and for all you know, you might be dead. That is why I live for today. I live for vital existence, not spiritual pipe dreams. You only get one life. Use every moment of it wisely. To hope and pray is a waste. To actually do something to enjoy it, is wise. And you have yet to prove that prayer works. I've already proven that you can pray to anything and get the same results: Sometimes you get what you want. Sometimes you don't. It's nothing but chance, no different than a lottery. Your concept of prayer is based on fallacy and i've shown that with not one, but two dead children whose parents refused to take them to a doctor and instead prayed over them.

I've proven 3 times in this thread alone that prayer doesn't work.  Of course you don't have to acknowledge the proof. That doesn't change the fact that I can pray to a jug of milk and the outcome will be no different than if I pray to a  god.You say there is a god, that's also been proven false. At least your god is fake, because he's no more powerful than a jug of milk. The same goes for the so-called "life after". You have no proof of that.  You're not casting pearls among swine. You're casting idiocy among the intelligent and it's not going to work. I grew out of the slave mentality years ago.
