Favorite BET AWARDS 08 Performances...
I enjoyed the entire program and most of the performances were creative and strong. I took something from each artist and their performances. The Hip Hop performances were very hype but I have to say I loved.... AL GREEN's TRIBUTE PERFORMANCE those are the songs and artists that you love to here giving honor to one of the greatest of all-time. I was especially happy to see Maxwell, Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton and all of them. John Legend could have smiled more but I love him too! CHRIS BROWN and Ciara performance was sensational, sexy and sentimental. I love CHRIS BROWN! I especially loved the Take You Down dance! Wow a lot of young ladies including myself wished that they could trade places with Ciara for a minute during that dance. IT was a nice little teaser, unforgettable! Enjoyed it! NE-YO's performance with the step routine reminiscing on School Daze was very classy and well put together. ALICIA KEYS with all of the best Girl Groups reminiscing on the songs of our teenage love affairs was a great idea. It's amazing they pulled it off. I kept wondering who would be next. But it was oh so wonderful to see them all on one stage together. USHER did a nice job, but you can tell that he's different or not the same artists that enjoyed the first two album sales. It almost seems like he was trying to hard but he wasn't himself. I think he has had to go through a lot the last two years and his growth is showing. I love to see him dance but I think that some performances he has to mellow out a little more. I was really hoping he would do "Moving Mountains"! All the performances were amazing and everyone did a nice job.

I think that the bet awards were okay. I think that they could of done better if bet let somebody else open up the show. Usher was not singing at all. the performance was sorry. I loved rihanna and chris brown performance with ciara. and also marvin sapp's performance i love that song it gives you so much inspiration. I think that keyshia cole can sing but i was not feeling her performance that night. it looked like to me that she was to busy dancing.I think that bet could of picked a better host then D.L. he was not that funny to me. hE was messing up. I loved that LiL wayne performance i love sum wayne.

I honestly don't know what to say about the show...I will say my favorite performances were: Al Green, Alicia Keys with En Vogue, SWV, and TLC, also the guy singing Gospel...Also Ne Yo performing with Jaba(the dance crew that won on MTV)...Most people will say that Usher or Chris Brown or Lil Wayne was the best..but I like substance..Seeing Al Green performed reminded me of being a little girl hearing my mom play his music..Al Green is real soul music...and I loved how his performance had everybody dancing in the aisles..even the rappers...These tough rappers showed their soft side and they danced to Al Green..that said so much...It was wonderful to see...and Alicia Keys brought out the female groups that I looked up to when I was growing up...but seeing TLC without Left Eye was very hard..and I'm sure it was hard for them too..SWV was a delight and seeing En Vogue reminded me of what real R&B used to be..Its like "wow what happened to our music"...and seeing Marvin Saap perform "Never could of made it" was what I need to see and hear..Its a shame that gospel and Christian music is put on the back burner these days on BET...These celebrities forget that they wouldn't have all they have without God...Since I'm like 28 years old, seeing Chris Brown perform with Ciara wasn't really what I wanted to see..I do have respect for how good Chris can dance..but I don't like the direction that he's going into..I have a cousin that is about Chris Brown's age and I honestly don't want her to think that she has to hump a floor to actually get fans....especially since she wants to be a singer...I also do like Ciara..but I would snatch up my cousin if she danced around like Ciara..

I agree with the person that said that Chris Brown shouldn't of performed after Marvin Saap..it was very inappropriate..but then again BET wouldn't know morals if it bit them on the butt...Its a big shame that a woman that now owns BET can't clean it up...What a shame..How is it that an intelligent black woman would sit there and allow BET to continue to exploit women..and allow certain music videos on that should be banned

I enjoyed the performances on the show. However, I was VERY disappointed in the skit about Madonna and Angelina Joli. Those families are trying to do something positive for black people and have received nothing but contempt. We complain when they dont do anything and complain when they do!! That skit was just wrong!!! I'm black and if that skit had been in reverse I would have been through the roof. Well I am equally offended for white people. That skit was not funny and extremely offensive!!! I'm hurt for Madonna, Angelina Joli and Brad Pitt. And I pray they dont stop doing what they do when faced with this type of ignorance.
We need our black stars to step up to the plate and adopt some black kids! How about that?

The show was awesome. Al Green stole the show. I just want to know why Lil Wayne wasn't bleeped when he said the word CRACKER. The rest of the offensive stuff was bleeped out. BET isn't supossed to condone racism in any way or so I thought. My son noticed it first. Then when I rewatched it I caught it myself. He is half black himself and just thought it was odd that BET would allow it.So I felt the same way. Did any one else catch it?

I agree Niecy Nash's skit was tasteless and not funny at all. It was ignorant and I am sick of racial jokes they are dumb and not funny.

Re: BET Awards '08
I loved this year's award, however DL Hughley was boring to say the least and every year the sound is real low while the awards is broadcasting. Is this how African-American awards show are broadcast. I notice it every year. The best performance was Ne-Yo and Chris Brown. Loved seeing my baby, Maxwell. I miss him terribly and hope he returns soon. Keisha is all good in my book, but her sound was a little off that night and her mother should have stayed home. I would be mortified if my mother acted like that in public. I saw the pre-awards red carpet and she is just ghetto as hell. Rihanna rocked but she could have added some more energy. Loved Rev. Al Green, he is the man afterall. Lil Wayne and T-Pain rocked it all the way live. Loved Nelly and JD. Jill Scott did her thing and Anthony Hamilton. I would like to see Monique or Will and Jada host for next years awards though. They were the best so far.
Peace,

I missed some of the show. What did Frankie do? And is there somewhere I can see a photo of what Frankie and Neffy was wearing?
