I watch the entire show and was truly amazed how talented the performer are and how blessed I was to see them use their talent in whatever form they did. Everyone has a gift from God in which they work hard to accomplish their goals. Some things may have not been observed as entertaining throughout the show, like the beeping out of curse words in the raps songs which was "very distracting" but much appreciated because it doesn't belong on television during prime time. Ne-yo is amazing along with all the other performer. Congratulations to Rev. Al Green and Mr. Q well deserved honors. Rev. Al Green songs reminded us when you could actually sing along with the songs and jam because you knew what the song was about. Not taking away from the newer/younger talents, but remember your roots from people like SWV, TLC, etc... they paved the way. Good to hear Maxwell and Anthony Hamilton and of course our girl Jill Scott amazing tribute. Thank you BET for committing to be a voice and vessel for Black Entertainment to shine. We may not always like everything that is shown, but it's amazing that this networks continues to be worthy to watch. God bless each you & your families who created, produced, coordinated, performed, presenters, directors, all the background unseen dedicated individuals etc...thank you for using your talented & skills that God gave you to share.Sincerely,

Sad [:(] Re: BET Awards '08
Keyshia Cole was awful. She cannot sing or dance she is not a performer and needs to stay in the studio.I was shocked to hear her sing live. Why was she given a contract. someone needs to address her show it was a hot mess.only al green and marvin sapp sang their hearts out. the rest did not put any effort in their performance. I hope 2009 they step up their game.ouch!

Tongue Tied [:S] Re: BET Awards '08

Well, I want to get straight to the point.  I love BET....I watch it all the time, but this awards show was probably the most ghetto it has ever been.  For America to be gettting a Black president this year, hopefully, I believe as one of the few Black entertainment television channels on TV, we showed little class.  This awards show was almost like a slap in the face to Obama.....and to think, his face was showed so many times!!  The performances were a little better than last year.  There were more people on this awards show who did a better job than the people who performed last year.  Rhianna did great as well as Alicia Keys, of course.  Chris Brown did good, a little too sexual for the public, but still good.  Ne-Yo did excellent.  He definitely brought class and portrayed a good image of a Black man, which is something I cannot say for 3/4 of the men who performed.  Also, the host, D.L. Hughely was not funny.  This should have been a year that us, Black people, should have definitely represented, but we failed to do so to the extent that we could have.  I, and many many other Black people, were disappointed.  Also, the show was set up wrong.  How are all the bad performers at the beginning, but the good peformers were at the end???  Chris Brown should not have peformed after Marvin Sapp.  That was disrespectful.

The BET AWARDS is the Best award show! I think though we need to be more classer with our performances and style of dress. But it was another GOOD one, I always shed a few tears when I watch the awards show and you can tell that many enjoy the family experience, the community meeting if you will, the honors, the best and most talented performing and displaying their talents. I think BET should add a segment or performance that displays the NEXT best talented or up and coming undiscovered musical geniuses. They should also have a little poetry and jazz segment to the awards show I think people of all ages will appreciate that. Also since there a lot of Hip Hop culture on display that maybe you should give homage to a different Hip Hop legend but then again we could do that at the Annual BET Hip Hop Awards. I enjoyed the entire show and D.L. Hughely did a wonderful job as host with his wit and humor. He's a natural and I can imagine being a host for a show or gala like this where have some of the most talented and all kind of people is not an easy job. But he was fantastic! Who's Dress I loved: Alicia Keys had a beautiful neutral color Grecian Goddess style dress that was absolutely gorgeous! Jordan Sparks, lady in red lovely! Queen Latifah with the sky blue dress radiant and beautiful as usual! Jennifer Hudson representing tastefully for the delicious big girls like me, amazing! You Go Girl! Ashanti had on a stunning dress I love the jewels, I like splits but the one in the front was a bit much but loved the elegance. Rihanna although I am really not a fan of canary yellow the design of the dress was beautiful. Lil Kim's gown had a very pretty color plum purple! Gabrielle Union was clean, sleek, youthful and beautiful in her white gown. Keri Hilton I like her glittery silver jump suit it was radiant and comfortable. Keyshia Coles wrap around flowered dress at the beginning of her performance was very beautiful too. and others... ___________________________________________________________________ Great Looks for the Guys: Ne-Yo was sharp as a tack promoting the gentlemen with swagger! Chris Brown I like his outfit especially his jackets were very fly, but he's a cutie! P.Diddy Sean Combs and family looked very classy and good looking! Maxwell I was so happy to him I had to stand up, talk about SEXY with SWAGGER teach them because they need to know! I LOVE HIM and his new look! Well Done! John Legend Looked crisp, clean and very handsome in his suits. DL Hughley was very fly and styli*73* Al Green was sharp, the smile was simply beautiful. I was hoping he sang some more. Quincy Jones suit was traditional but the colors looked good. So Good to see him be honored too. David Banner was very well dressed, and handsome. Ludicris he didn't were a suit but he looked very sexy in his wine colored tee and khakis! Big Boi was FRESH in his ensemble, I loved the hat! Nelly not suited but still had them sweating with his sexiness! and I can on and on because in my book THE GUYS DID IT BETTER or LOOKED HOTTER! All in all everyone looked nice and more importantly had a great time!
