I agree. Some people on here are acting just as bad as the people on the show were acting. And then they say that the cast members are acting ignorant.

I don't think that because we are black we are have to "act holy." But, I do think that we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard. Since people expect nothing more than ignorance, anger, violence and baffoonery when they see us portrayed in shows - we have to discredit those assumptions by proving the opposite. It can seem unfair that we have to prove to everyone that we are better than their assumptions, but that was the hand that we were dealt...So we can choose to uphold the stereotypes and assumptions or we can choose to discredit them...

I personally don't think that this kind of behavior is the hand that we were dealt. Nobody formulated people's mind into thinking that the race is ignorant except black people. And black shows continue to feed the minds of those that already think our race is ignorant. But like you said, we need to discredit them for ourselves.

I agree. People are just so open to being violent that it's sad. I mean, come on now, is all this stuff going to matter when you get old? Seriously? People think too much in the present than in the future. This isn't aimed at anyone but I'm just generally speaking.

Miami, this behavior is not what we were dealt, but stereotypes, which we as a people choose to perpetuate. Regardless of this "melting pot" we call America, whites are still holding most of the keys, and guarding most of the doors, and we are only a few generations removed from blackface and Jim Crow; those are not ideas formulated by us. If we are not to be left behind, we have some things to prove, we need to hold up our end of the deal.

caramel, of course we are not the only ones that behave in this manner, however, we are the only ones expected to behave in this manner. And even though these people are individuals, they are representing to the general non-black public for us, good or bad. Every one does not have the presence to realize that we all don't act alike.

I agree with you. Black people were behind when other black people were selling the people of their race to be used as slaves before blacks even came to America. But in my opinion, even though black people are technically still behind, like you have said, it's not because of just white people which a lot of black people tend to think. Nobody can hold anyone back more than themselves. And as you've said, people have chosen to perpetuate stereotypes. And because of that, people need to realize that we're better than what's been portrayed of us on t.v. And like you said, we have things to prove and we need to hold up our end of the deal.

Re: Tonights Show
I have to agree with you Shaqueesha, I mean a man wont buck up to hit a beautiful women, a man knows what to say, and clearly this *6* is not a real man. He needs to understand that he has not had a good relationship with anybody from day zero, and he messed up when he started showing disrepect for the young beautiful ladies in the house. I mean I am in college myself, I am young also, but clearly you dont see me acting like a true *6* on national television. I act civilized on and off set. I am the same no matter what not just in front of important people. If somebody was wrong it was him.
