Hey dude, this isn't an uncommon phenomenon I mean to be quite honest with ya I think it is cool as hell I mean... black people have always rocked it out, but here lately they haven't been able to do what they do best and that is to freakin' ROCK, because oh they gotta be like Tupac you know the Thug Life to be concidered black, but there is a difference between actual blackness and being friggin "Ghetto". I mean Black folks have been rockin out with the Delta blues like Lead Belly, oh dang the dude who did the Crossroads thing amongst many others... its like black men were born with guitars in their hands. Later on in the late 60's you had the God of the Six String Jimi Hendrix and then multiracial bands like the Allman Brothers, Sly and the Family Stone to name just a few there were more... then BAM you are in the 1990's and you have Kings X, Living Colour, now in 2000's even Will Smiths wife Jada is in a metal band... I think that its about time. I had a friend in high school who was black and was into heavy metal he had a tendancy of being berated by the "harder" black boys calling him and oreo and a sell out or whatever just because he liked alot of what was "stereotypical" white. I think that its awesome. Blacks invented rock-n-roll so why the hell is it looked at as being concidered as a phenom when a black person does METAL. I think it is powerfull. Dude check out the band Kill Switch Engage. They are awesome.
