ATTN: BET- The Problem with the "Iron Ring"
The producers of this show are trying to market Mixed Martial Arts(MMA), to the Black Community using a combination of Bruce Lee and Dog Fighting. Bruce Lee was an actor and everything he did in the movies was choreographed. What Bruce Lee was really about has evolved into MMA. The head guy on the show, the arbitor, is a wanna be revolutionary who has no idea what it's like to fight someone who can not only intelligently defended themselves, but come after you as well. I'm trying to imagine a martial art that doesn't require some form of warm up and stretching. Anyway, I think that guy is a fraud. This show makes a mockery of the sport, which it is,and Black people as well. If you are trying to promote legalized street fighting it will always be viewed negatively. This has been done before and it almost ended the sport in America. John McCain was one of the loudest voices against it. The arbitor strikes me as a guy who picked up a technique or two somewhere and had a few mild situations against untrained opponents. If you do another season, you would do well to replace him. He has no idea about the ground game. I would suggest Llyodd Irvin. The officiating is horrible. Those guys are clowns and you guys really need to get some real refs. You would be hard pressed to convince me that these refs had any prior experience officiating mixed martial arts competitions. The coach for Dipset doesn't have a clue, he's funny, and it was funny watching him get played by Abdul, but he should be there more for comic relief, not to coach. PS- If one of the team managers picks a Capoera practitioner, that will really be embarrassing.

The dumbest thing I think that the arbitor has said so far is "if it go to the ground, I want to see them get straight to submissions..." Spoken like a man who has never applied a submission hold to a resisting opponent. If only it were that easy. I think this guy is expecting to see a movie or something. What a joke.
