Idea [I] I believe some of what Barack Obama says

Obama seems ok, but if he didn't believe some of what the preacher was saying why did he keep going to the church? I think he believes what the preacher was saying. Now that he is running for president he claims he dosent agree with all of what the preacher said about America.

I am black but I don't believe we should support somebody just because they are black.

What do you think?

Re: I believe some of what Barack Obama says

^^^You have friends I'm guessing. You don't cease being their friend just because you may not agree with everything they say do you? Neither should Barack Obama. People who endorse him will say things that may not necessarily accurately represent the thoughts and feelings of Barack, does that mean we should stop supporting him because of it?

Secondly, no, a person shouldn't support Barack Obama just because his father was African. A person should research all the candidates and make an informed decision on their own. However, Barack Obama is the only one left in the race who will ultimately attempt to incorporate the needs and concerns of African-Americans in his administration agenda. You really think McCain will have blacks best interest at heart? Or you think Hill-Billy will?

I'm voting for McCain, but even I think Barack didn't agree with Wright just because he kept attending that church.  My old preacher made me so mad lots of time with the stuff he was saying, but I kept going because overall, I liked my church and the church is more than the preacher.  My preacher changed and hopefully Wright will too.BTW, he's my old preacher because I moved really far from that church and not because I didn't agree with what he said.

If she honestly thinks that Hillary or McCain care for blacks then she needs a reality check.

Re: I believe some of what Barack Obama says

You have a point about the friendship thing, but  to me a preacher and a friend are a little different. For example, I go to a church now and if the preacher says thing contrary to my beliefs a couple of times I will find another church.

like most of what Obama stands for.  It just seemed like he changed preachers because he is running for President.  If he thaught the preacher was alright before why change it? Is it just to win?

I don't necessarily like the other candidates better. I feel that McCain is going to replace Bush if he is elected, and Hillary is going to pick up where Bill Clinton left off if elected. We won't really know until after the Presidential election.

Cool [H] Re: I believe some of what Barack Obama says

If he fall back from his pastor, of over 20 years if i'm not mistaken, just because the media distorted some comments and he's taking heat for it would be a *27* move IMO.....Obama's not your average *27* n.igga, he may be "well groomed" but he has the heart of a lion...dudes a warrior...If he's not Loyal to his pastor what makes you thinks he'll be loyal to America? Especially lower class America?  No different than Ali made his stance in the 60's...If Barrack did the same thing back then he would be considered a Radical....

Anybody who feels he's not in touch with the lower class, especially black lower class need to read, IF NOTHING ELSE, his Chapter on Race Relations in AUDACITY OF HOPE....I'm from Chicago West side, and he talks about Chicago ghetto life with such accuracy and acuity...I felt like I was right back there in it, a gut wrenching chill went down my spine while I was reading it in a store just mesmerized....The tone was very 2 Pac'sh w/out the cursing and anger...He was just spittin real sh*t...Obama isn't your everyday politician..he was riding w/ a cause in them streets...

How many other politicians will say what everybody know is the truth about AIDS in the black community? Brotha just called it out and said 'PROMISCUITY' In other words there's a lot of ho'n goin's on...And it's the TRUTH! that's all WE talk about on the dating boards...*55*, HO'S AND S.LUTS!! Cause that's all that's out there today...And women are more at risk so there ya go...

^^Very good post.  Thanks for posting that.  I hope that some people in Penn read that before they vote in today's primary.

I agree. I'm glad that was shared. We need to talk about this stuff.
