Lightning [li] BAN THIS SHOW
First and foremost let me just say I am a 37 year old black man, so there is NO question as to my race when I say what I have to say here.I have been involved in combat sports since 1986, so I am not new to this in any way, shape or form. I have followed, and competed in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts since the beginning of the UFC in the mid 90's.I have never seen such an embarrassment of a television show in all my years.I am embarrassed because african american entertainers are making MMA look bad, themselves look bad, and the world's view of black people as a whole look ridiculous. This show was advertised as a mixed martial arts reality show, but after watching it so far its nothing more than a bunch of men claiming to be educated in the martial arts, acting UN'educated among their peers. The younger guys are acting like they need to prove that they are in charge, and that they are the authority on the sport, when they have NO clue, or have never fought in MMA before, and the older black guys are acting like they are martial arts heros from yesteryear, and everyone should be bowing down to them, when in my opinion, they would get seriously injured if they stepped into the Iron Ring. Then we have rappers as team owners?Who on earth came up with this silly idea? All of the rappers they have on this show have shown NO, and I mean NO knowledge of this sport so far. T.I. apparently is nothing more than a young punk with no ability to speak coherently, and a large wallet due to his musical skills to rhyme to a beat. (I must add that I am a fan of his music)To stand on a stage overlooking the ring, and say the things he was saying on that show makes him, and his entourage look like idiots. I actually feel sorry for the fighters on this show, as many of them seem to be desparate for a shot at being in that ring. I wish I had the resources to help some of these guys the way the musicians seriously could. If you can "make it rain on them *58*" and drink Cristal like its Gatorade, then how about adding to the pathetic $100,000 fee that the winner recieves? It is sickening to continously watch Floyd Maywether flaunt, and brag about his hundreds of millions, and then see these guys getting NOTHING for their efforts, when in reality, most of the fighters in MMA would beat the crap out of him.Boxing is NOT MMA.  Neither is Hip Hop for that matter...but for some strange reason these armchair fighters think that a being a fan, and having a big wallet instantly makes you a credible authority on this sport. Is it absolutely nessecary to act like a street thug when you are NOT a street thug?As far as the Alexis Aquino incident...I don't even know where to begin on that one...That guys is an accomplished fighter, and spoke up when he felt he didn't get a fair shot. Then was told he HAD a spot on a team if he won his fight...Won the fight, and then didn't get on the team???He got teased for warming up???  This is real proof that this show is nothing more than a joke, and someone is going to get seriously hurt.Come on BET.Do you really need this???

Pizza [pi] Re: BAN THIS SHOW
Alexis was scammed. Him and every other white guy on this show needs to sue this entire network for reverse discrimination. Imagine if this had happened to a BLACK man on The Ultimate Fighter, Spike TV would be sued in a *8*in heartbeat. This is a disgrace to the MMA community. These rappers know nothing about the respect us fighters have for one another.

I whole heartedly agree with you. As a black male 36  and as a particpant in MMA circles as well.I  wrestled in highscool and college, competed in N.a.g.a grappling events and in full contact mixed martial arts. This show is a degenerative filth and carries , a false image of MMa, while breathing life into urban stereotypes....I don't mean to overrstate what you wrote.. well said my friend!
