Stigma: The Silent Killer
BET NEWS lifts the veil on the stigma attached to HIV/Aids and the role plays it the spread of the epidemic in the African Diaspora.

Should Black people start thinking about – or re-think – their attitude towards the silent killer?

AIDS has grown into an international crisis with at least 38 million people infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. In the US and the Caribbean, Black people are in the crosshairs of the epidemic. One of the main reasons that the virus continues to grow, experts say, is the ignorance, fear and shame that still surrounds it: stigma.

Sound off here and tune in on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 @ 8pm (ET/PT).

No responses.........sad!!!!
Nothing gets done about these things because we as a people are so wrapped up in petty material crap and who said what about who. Just look at the responses a certain someone receives in "the water cooler" threads and its just a big circle of the same crap. We can speak on something positive and it goes to that, the post get corrupted. ------------------------------------------------- Basically, we as a people need to be twice as careful as others even if they can get it just as easily. Its hard to wait until marriage, but its worth it, and according to the Bible, we are supposed to wait anyway. I'm married, and i'm I wasn't out there running from bed to bed. It isn't even something I used to brag to my friends about, because no one would brag about catching something either. ------------------------------------------------- For all the youngsters out there even thinking about having sex. Just wait, because the ones that have and caught something after the first time, wishes they would have waited. Life isn't over for them, but it has some MAJOR restrictions afterward. Just keep your pants zipped and your legs closed and hustle hard, you can get where you wanna be (just pray).
Spend less time on hate'n, and more time on actually becoming something, and maybe we can elminate the Black on Black BS.
