You are right about the way blacks outside africa worship at the alter of the white value system. It is only in africa where you can be appreciated and Respected as a black woman . I know what am talking about. In west africa women who bleach are considered prostitutes . Sade is a nigerian . Her mother is white . Hallie berry's mother is english and apart from beyonce all the light skinned women are bi- racial. All the nasty names black men in america call their own women is just an example of this.

Hi I am a dark skinned women and i  am very pretty and my dark skinned sissters out their the only reason a man would date light skinned women is because they come easy if you know what i am saying and they are gulable i think that it is another way to put our black people against each other because all light skinned people are not cute and all dont have long hair just as well as dark or browned skinned people some are very ugly and nappy headed. light skinned people you guys are still black. you are not white your skin is not red it is yellow or light brown the red comes from your ancesters if you have ancesters that have some type of indian or white blood wether be dark or light you will have a redish glow about your skin. so when you say your better remember you still black.

Honestly, anyone African-American who has to depend on how light their skin is to get a man/women are not confident enough in their inner or outer beauty. I believe all black people are beautiful, especially the darker brothers. The ones who look like our old African ancestors are the best. Their skin is so pretty. Whoever posted this comment was obviously trying to get a rise out of everyone and gain someattention as well. People like them are not worth the time and energy. Speaking about Black on Black crime I am creating a forum now. Check it out.... P.S. some darker skinned people do have red undertones, like me I don't know if it has to do because I'm Indian or what...but you can still see them and I'm dark so whatever.........

to me white clothes and shoes are light skinned female and black clothes and shoes are dark skinned females. for me my favorite colours are black and white because both colours look good. so skin doesnt matter to me but when i wear white clothes people see me more because its brighter than black. DO YOU GET WHAT IM SAYING?

wow. i barely post on this forum anymore but this is really stupid.  not all lighter skinned women are biracial.  im considered fair & i am proud to be black...can you guys just accept that black people come in all different shades of beauty.  from the extremely fair like blu cantrell to the gorgeous black dinka tribe supermodel Alek Wek.  if you havent noticed, the most successful and beautiful supermodels of the high fashion industry are Darker skinned & preferably exotic beauties of Africa.  let it go.  if you keep bringing it up, the problem will still exist.

This girl is so ridiculous.....just because ur light skinned or mixed does not make you beautiful..Trust, i've seen alot of ugly people of lighter complexion. I honestly believe that the most beautiful mixed girls are those with the darker complexion because they aren't so dull...And dark, caramel, or watever other skin color u claim is not beautiful...are in fact beautiful. U just think too highly of urself.....

Are you serious?? do you even realize that your contributing to the ongoing stereotype that an factor in crippling our balck community. You cant be serious and actually think your statement is valid. Maybe you should take a look back on our history as a race and see that black is beautiful and hating on the brown and darker sisters cause of their skin color. Your probably no the only person that thinks like that but as a lovely caramel/brown skinned female I must speak my piece in this nonsense.

First and foremost, that is the most ignorant load of horse-*73*t that I've ever read in my life. It seems to me that you have a serious mental problem that needs to be fixed quick. People like you are what's wrong with this world. At the end of the day you are still a black woman and I really hope you don't go around spreading that trash b/c that's just asking for an a$$-whooping.

@redbone...from one light-skinned woman to another please do me a favor and stop embarassing us. I know how we are labeled and presented at times and you are not doing us any favors here. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Anyone who takes a few extra minutes a day to enhance their looks are beautiful people. They just have to find the right eyes to see it. We start with our own eyes. We see what we want to, but so does everyone else. Black sisters shouldn't do this to each other. The envy is obvious.

I just see this as someone trying to build themself up based on one thing they think is beautiful about themself because they know their actually lacking in other areas

I think so also. This is just another way for someone to get drama started without realizing that sometimes things that are said here on the post are carried out into our daily lives. She would not feel so good if she is all alone and a gang of darkskined women who may have read this post jump her lil hiney.

Obviously the lack of history in school is truly having an effect on the upcoming generation of blacks. Neither Alicia Keys, Sade, or Mariah Carey are BLACK...they are known as what is called mixed or half-breed!!! The problem is that they truly don't feel like they belong because of the mentality stated by the 'redbone' earlier. They are resented by black women because of their "house-***%#" mentality and not accepted by white women because of their *53**%# roots. Whatever the reason may be, it has clearly been demonstrated that when you convince yourself beauty embodies you and that it's all you need in life, you forget to concentrate on other more important aspects of your life, such as your education. Reading your comment we are unable to see what you look like, so all we can base our opinions on are what you wrote and based on that you're an idiot. You need a tutor for your grammar including spelling...so before you try to diss or misrepresent MY black brothers and sisters at least have a grammar book present to help you differentiate between does and do...LMAO!!!
