I hope that no one gets upset by this comment.  But, we both know that in the black community light skin women are seen as the REAL BEAUTY.  Women with a complexion like kelly rowland, lauryn hill, ciara, ashanti, or even beyonce (well sometimes), are not seen as beautiful.  That is why many of these women try to bleach their skin, because they want to be seen as beautiful.  And we both know that black men only goes after black women with a comlpexion such as Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, or Sade because we indeed are the truly beautiful sisters.  Anyone else does not. 

Does any brothers out there agree and my redbone/high yella sistas out there.  So holla........................

In my effort to play the devil's advocate, I failed to re-read that first post. I thought this person was talking about something obvious. Were you having too good of a day? lol Well instead of calling you ignorant- I'll tell you what life is really like in the Black community: Do you know how many women (including high yellows) wants the sister's booty? Do you know how many of them whish they were darker? A LOT. I never heard of Black women in bulk bleaching their skin. As a light-skinned girl I'm offended myself. The only thing that you've proven about the high yellow women is that some are arrogant about who they are- making it hard for people like me. Trust me, in the real world you'll get knocked down just like the rest of us Black girls. Speaking of Beyonce. Don't even go there lol. She's light enough to get too much attention. She's another person who is just as arrogant as you are on this subject, but at least she can hide it super well. Not to offend any fans lol. i wish people would stop judging what men like based off of rap videos etc. because i've been seeing a lot of videos with brown women and a lot of commercial and in videos...and most of these rap artists and r&b singers are married to brown skinned women

Yeah very ignorant.  Beyonce and Ashanti?? They are just as light as Alicia Keys.  I've never been found to be attractive because of my fair skin.  Especially not around the black people i know...we all come from well off, educated families and there is no self hate at all.  If you look at Baldwin Hills, the girls with the most love interests were darker skinned.  Gerren & Ashley.  Granted Beyonce denies her blackness & says creole every time she gets a chance [so does her mom...who's even selling creole clothes? wtf?] but that doesnt make her any less black than Alek Wek. Idk why people keep bringing this light skin dark skin *** anymore...Its really stupid.  We're living in a day and age where there is lots of interacial dating going on, especially white men & black women [which for the most part are darker] let it go.  People really arent looking at  skin anymore.  A black man may date a puerto rican woman one day and a black women the next.  Beauty comes in all colors and sizes.
