i've been in domestic violence before like other women like Juanita. GUESS WHAT!! things like this does not come over night. they were married five years then out of the black and blue bishop starts being violent. I saw the bruises on Juanita in her police report pics, they did not get there by themselves so either her husband did them or she set it up, so like I said someone is lying about the actual incident that took place that day in the parking lot. And FYI, I have never read a Juanita Buymn book or listened to a tape nor have I ever followed her husband, the info that I know about Juanita is what my friends that follow her tell me and when I saw her bio on the BET show "Exalted". I could never get with pastors and preachers that scream and yell I like to learn and seriously understand the word without all the extra performing. Praise/Worship is the time to shout unto God in thanksgiving, but when it's time to study, listen and learn the word of God I like to follow pastors that deliver it to me straight no chaser and that why I love my pastor, he stays true to bible based teachings so I close by saying I am not one of the "suckers that sends them cash"....as you say.

I actually have to agree with swearl. I don't think that Bishop Weeks meant the Oprah comment as a compliment to Juantia really. I think he meant it  by saying that she was all about capitalizing on her church fame to get to the next level and sometimes in doing that Chrisitans have to be very careful and keep God first and let Him order your steps. I really don't know if the statement is true, but like I said I don't think he meant it in a good way. They both neede to go somewhere, get off the TV with this mess and go deep inside themselves and let God start to heal and fix the problems that they both may have in themselves and stop making a spectacale of themselves and Chrisitanity!!!!

But also remember all "Mega Preachers" are not the same, their are some that are actually teaching the true word of God from the actual bible and they just so happen to have a huge congregation, but their not "prosperity preachers", those are the one's that you have to watch out for.

@Earl: I'm NOT the problem with the "black church". I know this....I feel that Bishop Weeks feels some type of way about Juanita's ministry. Be it envy or jealousy of her ministry. Thats something he's just got to deal with. Juanita was already in demand so to speak when he met her. She was already there and he wasn't, but its not like that he wouldn't once he put himself out there. So yes for him to say that Juanita wants to be like Oprah in that sense is wrong, but on the other hand I'd be like...well thank you!!-----------------What you need to understand and grasp is that Juanita isn't seeking fame. She has become popular through her ministry. What she teaches and preaches at conferences. Earl you're a heathen and a hater. Ok this is getting nuts!!!!! I love how people never see the good things the church does and the community service and outreach we do, it's never on the news or celebrated, but the minute something like this happens.....here comes the scarlet letters ready to burn folks at the stake!!!!!!!!!OK Earl, you have made your point. The bible talks about false prophets and everyone carrying a bible under their arm is not necessarly following the context in the bible.What I can't understand is why all Chrisitians have to be slandered when one or two or a group of chrisitans mess up. Why does the whole church have to be condemed when one church falls. We are all not the same, just like all wordly people are not the same. This is the thing I love about God though, he is able to turn any situation that was meant for evil for good. He is able to turn any heart around, he is able to get his people's attention in any way possible, if you are slepping on God you better believe he will wake you up. I remember  times when I have messed up big time and God had to push me up againist a wall just to get my attention to bring me back to him because I was just doing what I wanted to do. God is awesome in that way and while we are all talking, slandering and condeming Juantia and her husband we ought to be praying for their souls and their hearts and then praying for ourselves because not ONE of us have never gotten caught up in some mess and put ourselves in a world a trouble that we didn't need God to save us, lets be real here!!!! No one's perfect not a preacher or member of the church and thats why I hold no one on a pedestal, but GOd and I would suggest all believers to do the same. Open your bible on your own time and read for yourself and allow God to speak to your heart, don't just wait to receive a word from a pastor, receive from God!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on Chrisitans, we need to get it together, stop playing church and start living for God and his word to the point where we thirst for it!! Build up our relationship with God, forget religion, it's about a relationship!!!!!

The book of proverbs talks about slandering others and how it makes you foolish. God is in control of the situation whatever needs to be revealed will be revealed. Thats why I don't say whos right or wrong, I just ask God to have his way in the situation and I KNOW that he will and I keep living for him. People need to stop saying whos gonna end up in "hell" and Accept Christ as their Lord and savior and keep themselves out of hell. People kill me with that.!!!!
