I really like the 90's rnb better but i like alot of the new rnb to. but more than anything i like the classic RnB like Marvin Gaye adn Luther Vandross. 90's rnb though i love Boys 2 Men...but now i have a question. i dont know how to post my own *53*etins, so im just gonna ask on here. There are 2 RnB songs that i have nooo clue who sings or what they are called. the 1st says something about "why do girls always fall harder than guys, i wanna know why" and the other says "i know u been through hard times, all of those guys that made u cry, but if u give me one chance, ill make u realize that im not like that to hurt u girl or make u sad cause i truly love u babygirl"..If u can help me i would REALLY appreciate it..Thanks

Yeah i think that the 80's and 90's singers are better. i like some today. but everyone nowadays cant sang. i mean they got hot beats but cant back it up u know what i mean. i really think that BET needs a show dedicated to mostly r&b. there a lot of hot sangers out there that are not getting there props i mean if they arent on 106& and park and MTV trl then they are not really heard of and i think that we can make a show where they can expose these artists and we can see really where r& b is taking us. 

I have to agree with everybody on here, wow! For me truly I'm more fond of the 80's and my generation is the 90's. To be honest though b/c I like to give where credit is due, the 90's and some today (very few) are true entertainers. Alicia Keys uses her piano into our hearts, Lauryn Hill they booed her a-- on Apollo. Enough said. Brian McKnight just to name a few.

Hands down 1990's R&B is 100 times better then the garbage that is out now.  I am to the point where I am disgusted with today's music.  The majority of the music I listen to is from the 90's with exception of Mary J. Blige latest album, which by the way is a master piece, I love it.  It just seems like no one puts any effort into their music.  As long as you have a pretty face, dressed half naked, know how to shake your a**, and have mediocre vocals you can get a record deal.  I do not even watch music vidoes anymore.  I honestly can't even tell you the last time sat and watched a music video.  The radio isn't any different, I rarely listen to it.  Back in the day you had to know how to sing to get a deal, now anyone off the street can get signed.  Singers from the 90's could really sing and the quality of music just sounded better. There were a lot more groups back in the 90's, now everyone wants to go solo.  Even the old artists like Brandy, Monica, and Toni Braxton are changing their style too much trying to fit in with the new crop of singers that are out now.  I say if it ain't broke then don't fix it.  Ladies stick to your old formula of making music because that is how you got your fans and that is how you will keep your fans.  Alicia Keys is someone who I respect vocally because she is a great talent and I do have her album.  I've always had this buried dream of creating my own record label.  I would put out quality artists, make REAL music, and create quality videos that tell a story, not just booty shaking videos.  But R&B is in real trouble and don't even get me started on rap because that's a whole other story.  Hip hop and R&B has basically went down the drain.

I don't look at vids no more cause everyone has the same formula, but when I see an artist that is treating a lady like a lady it does catch my eye...Oh yes, I'm talking about LLoyd. no big jewery, no half naked ladies, no boose, just talking about love.

Its seems to be unanimous. I'm only 23 and I think the old R&B is better than the music these days. Problem number one is all the singers out now can't sing very well. Some can, but most don't. The singers out now do not sound like the record when they sing live, they sound much worse.

I think that the only artist out for mainstream R&B today that can sang would be, Yes Beyonce, Christina Aguleria, Lyfe Jennings, John Legend, Fantasia, Yea Jennifer Hudson, and thats all i can thank of right naw, I aint watched BET in along time..

80s and 90 singers all day everyday. It seems like the artist back in those days had the actual ability to sing and didn't have to use technology to enhance their voice, and not only that, but their lyrics were something that a person can actually listen too; so did rap. Rap music was very lyrical back in the 80s and 90s, but now you have people singin' about damn lipglosses and sh** and other materialistic sh** that i wouldn't care who had.

I grew up on a lot of old school music.... But I would have to say my favorites are Angela Winbush ( she from Stl ) and Stephanie Mills ( both from the 80's) . I absolutely love their music. In the 90's I was into folks like Aaron Hall (  from the group Guy ) ...he was a good singer;  Now today, as far as good singers go , I will say Mary J. Blidge,  Beyonce, & R kelly, anything he does is just pure genius to me. Raheem Devaughn and Dwele have good voices too. **hahah**
