OK.  I have read some of your other statements on this matter and I must speak to you directly.  You are missing the point.  If Daymeon wants to date white women, then cool.  He should go chase his dreams.  Nobody disputes that.  The issue is that he is a walking poster child for self-hatred.  I am more concerned about that than anything.

First, he has made many self-deprecating comments about being dark-skinned.  Didn't he say something in the first episode to the effect that Earl has it made because he is "light-skinneded"? 

Second, he has called himself "stupid".

Third, he is disrespectful.  Gerren's mother was nice.  I would have kicked a stump in his behind.

Fourth, he is offensive.  Not just to black women, but women PERIOD.  He is sexist and he is dumb.  I figure that if a black woman thinks he is a jerk, then I am very sure that my white sisters also think that he is a jerk.  Instead of pursuing a career in "telling jokes."  He needs to go back to school and learn to articulate and stop being a mushmouth.

I am sure that there are many other things that I could highlight, but the bottom line is that Daymeon has issues.

I am disgusted at his mother's reaction to what he said.  She should have done a better job of talking to him.  Better still where is his father?  His father should be doing a better job of RAISING his son, instead of allowing him to grow up.

So before you even say it...I am not jealous.  I am a 35 year old, college educated, professional woman who is in a relationship with a white man.  Therefore, I fully support interracial and intraracial relationships.  I am all about love.  But see, here is the difference between me and Daymeon...I am not dating my man because ::::: insert stereotype about black men here ::::.  I love my man because he makes me a better woman.

Daemon's comment was very ignorant and I blame his mother, it's obvious he learned that mentality. He either heard it from family members, friends or someone. After he made a comment like that, it should have been his mothers job to explain to him how wrong on all levels that was, especially that it was said on t.v.!! but I got the feeling that wasn't the only time he has expressed that feeling or that she didn't know somewhat of where he stood on that level. It should have been his mothers duty to teach, talk to him how wrong that was, but since it looks like mother ain't got too many sense then he will continue to feel that way. That was a very ignorant statement and I hope if any young boy's were looking at this or girls that there parents saw it too and talked to them how deadly wrong on sooo many levels that was.

I don't think a father is in the picture.. I dont think he actually lives inside baldwin hills, maybe near there, looking from what they showed it didn't look like the others.

I'm actually shocked to know there are alot of people that are over the age of 18 watching this show, I am 27... and my fiance thought I was the only one...

I do have to disagree with you on one thing about the interracial dating I don't agree with it, but you know that's my opinion and if your with someone out of pure love then by all means.

Keisha, I don't want to take a tangent, but you stated that you don't agree with interracial dating, but you didn't really say what you meant by that.  May I ask what you meant by that?  Do you mean that is something that you don't see yourself participating in?  Or do you believe that it is a sin or an abomination or unnatural or something to that effect?  Just askin'

As a dark skinned person he may have been on the other end of insulting comments about dark skin by some of his own people.  I bet he has internalized them and is trying to laugh at it instead of be hurt by it by calling himself dumb or whatever. The only way to even out his darkness or make up for it IS to date a white chick.  I think Wesley Snipes has the same kinda complex.

My feelings exactly. I think that a lot of times when  a dark skin brother refuses to date inside his own race or even only blacks with light skin,that they suffer with  a color complex. Life usaully is the root to their issues. Being of the dark complexion has been frowned upon for the over last 100 years. Not only in the black nationality but mexicans, indonesions,etc. The closer you look to white has always been rewarded back to  House N*G*E*R* Sad but true.

I watched it. It reminded me of one of the conversations that i had with my father. He said that this was one of the ways, if not the main weapon that white slave owners used to divide and conquer the african race. Not only did they rape our women, they used the offspring produced as a caste mark on plantations. This is where the term house N*gger was derived. They used the lighter offspring for house chores, they even put some of them in charge of their darker counterparts. Sad, but its a true truth. In turn, the darker counterparts saw this and thus the self hating began. You were more accepted if you had lighter skin. As time passed, light skin was the thing to be based on the white slave owners divide and conquer system. Just a bit of history for you to think about.

MickMici- I was stating that I personally don't believe it interracial relationships... it's not a thought of sin not at all. It's sort of a hard subject to go into, I have a fiancee who has a son that is bi-racial it was hard to deal with that, because of my thoughts on it, but I love his son very much. But I still and will always have my thoughts on interratial dating. It's something I don't believe in, don't encourage it. My fiancee knows my views on it. It's just something I feel, I am extremely upset when I see a black man holding a white womans hand, just because I feel like that brother feels more important, better because of this white woman on him.and you can't find a black man holding a sista's hand, but will hold a white womans hand in a second. and White woman have this I want to be down/that therory of black man in bed type thing that makes me cringe everytime I see a white woman with a black man.

I dont' want to make another blog on this issue.. I don't hate people who are in interracial relationships, I personally don't like it. for many other more deeper reasons than that. That's just a simple easy answer to it.
