Iron Ring
Mixed martial arts comes to BET!
Step into the “Iron Ring” Tuesdays at 11 p.m. (ET/PT), starting March 18.
An all-star line-up of celebrities, including Ludacris, Juelz Santana, Lil Jon, Nelly and Floyd Mayweather, will manage teams of fighters in the best mixed martial arts match-ups on television.
From a steel ring above the arena, the celebrity “owners” will interact with their gladiators between rounds – and sometimes right in the middle of them. Each week, as top competitors enter the battle zone to face off, using the combined techniques of jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, boxing, kickboxing and wrestling, viewers will witness true-to-life, bone-crushing, face-smashing sports entertainment unlike anything ever seen before.
Only the strong will survive!
Sound off about "Iron Ring" and combat sports here!
Tune in Tuesdays at 11 p.m. (ET/PT), beginning March 18.

This is the most pathetic show ive ever seen. The only somewhat legitimate owner is Floyd Mayweather and he would get absolutely dominated in a mma fight by even a mediocre fighter the minute it hit the ground. And just because a rapper talks about fighting in their music does not mean that they know *73* about it. Just so every team owner knows, YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING IN AN MMA FIGHT!! There are several rules that must be adhered to. Your so called mma expert may be qualified, but showing him doing wrist locks, fighting off 3 people and other kung fu movie nonsense does not exactly convince people who know this sport that he knows anything. Where has he been in the mma, jiu jitsu, or wrestling? All the wrist locks, katta, and chi *** has nothing to do with mma. If you will excuse me I need to vomit because the show just came back on

p.s.Why didnt you guys get David Loiseau, or Rhadi Ferguson? They are legit and could really make this show into something more than the tripe it is and they are black! Those are all the qualifications this show seems to require.
p.p.s. Why didnt Floyd take Sean Sherks offer to fight? Could it be that all the *73* talking about mma a year or so ago bit him in the *** when the former light weight champion of the world showed up and challenged him? Im just curious.
IT IS MMA, NOT ULTIMATE FIGHTING

What is going on with this show? Who is teaching jiu jitsu and wrestling? Is it all kickboxing or will there actually be some ground fighting? Can we see what the fighters styles are on the website? The first episode indicates that it is going to be nothing but brawling with little skill. Get David Loaso (spelling?) in as a coach. He is way more accomplished than the guys you have now.

I forgot: Why are the rappers here? You know that several mc's from GOOD hip hop groups do jiu jitsu? (J5, mystic journeymen, etc)and you can actually understand what they are talking about. And as much as a legend Floyd Mayweather is in boxing, his style (especially his stance) would have him eating elbows or getting rear naked choked in a matter of seconds.

Rappers with teams = OFF THE CHAIN! No question but that TI takes combat seriously. ;)Floyd knows BOXING but shows he doesn't know what's up with ultimate-style fighting. Bottom line: black fighters will end up dominating here just like boxing. If rappers can find bad *** fighters & be entertaining then I'm all for it.

Why is there no question that TI takes combat seriously? Because he was saying that stupid *73* about "kill the head and the body will follow"? I have never seen him at jiu jitsu or wrestling tournaments and have never heard of him fighting anywhere so his opinion is absolutely worthless in this sport until it is proven otherwise. As for "ultimate style fighting" there is no such thing and it shows you do not know what you are talking about. Its called mixed martial arts, or if you want to go old school "no holds barred". Ultimate fighting championship is an organization and not the name for the sport. People like you and the people on this show makes me sad that this sport is getting bigger, because it means more dumbasses will start watching it. Lets start having shows where politicians put together mma teams, or better yet we will have american idle runner ups put together their own MMA team. Sanjaya knows just as much about fighting as any of the fake tough guys on this show who are starting teams. WHICH IS NOTHING! You will find that people who take this sport seriously will try very hard to defend it from train wreck shows like this one.

Smart people will dominate this sport regardless of what their race is. I guess this excludes you ARROBERTS. Maybe you should go for a Guiness record like longest fingernails, or most consecutive times dropped on your head while a baby. I hear the European fecal standars & measurements is trying to break the 8.6 kurich record. All you have to do is eat *73* and post all day!!! your training has begun

Luda has the right coach too. You know you have to make a show a show but on the real, as far as a coach, no TV coach here, Abdul Mutakabbir is as real as they come, he is a legend fighter from back in the day but also is a blackbelt in BJJ training with top brazilians everyday, on top of about ten other black belts in other arts. NO flash straight up lethal up top, ground, whatever, the show. They good for show but could be on the real too.

This show is a disgrace to the sport of mma. It is obvious that everyone involved in making the show have no idea what they are doing. The team owners are clueless to the sport, and the coaches are completely unqualified. Mutakabbir is a bjj blackbelt, but that is not what he is teaching. Karate and all that kung-fu stuff is completely useless in a fight. This show is totally unproffessional, ignorant, and should have never been allowed to be shown on television.

Alexis Aquino should sue BET and the makers of Iron Ring. He was told that if he won his fight that he would take the guy's spot. He completely dominates and clearly outclasses his opponent and they still didnt let him on the team?! That shows just how ignorant and racist this show is. Aquino exposed the owners and coaches for their error in team selection and all the ycan do is hate on his performance, even though they are completely unqualified to criticize anything a true professional fighter does. If this had happened on The Ultimate Fighter and it were a black man that got cheated out of a spot there would be a lawsuit. Alexis Aquino needs to bring legal action to BET.

First off, the sport is called mixed martial arts (MMA), not "ultimate-style fighting"Second, why do you think black people will end up dominating the sport? Last time I checked, the sport of MMA is Universal. Their are thousands of different combat styles from all over the world. Race has nothing to do with fighting ability but I guess you haven't realized that yet.
